    Fascinated by the notion that certain movie images recur in all kind of films, I started collecting. From 70 movies I collected similar film scenes and began to study them, trying to find out more about those stereotype scenes. The results of my analysis and all kind of data I collected are visualized in different ways, sketches, infographics, animations, collages, etc.

Audrey Hepburn takes off sunglasses

There are 9 scenes of women who take of sunglasses in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. I made different try-outs in order to show these scenes altogether.

An experiment on our perception of moving images. I edited an original fragment  from the film noir movie ‘the dark corner’. shaking of sheets

This is a further approach to the movement study of scenes in which a sheet is shaken up. The outlines of the sheets were traced and overlayed. Now I am experimenting with different combinations of the different scenes, and also combination with the original sound from the film scenes.

Once I saw a very striking movie scene, showing a plastic sheet that is shaken up. Although it is not visualized where the sheet is used for, the viewer understands that a dead body is going to be wrapped in it.
